## What is it?

Chrome’s disk cache for every profile: images, scripts and other files from websites you visit, stored in `~/Library/Caches/Google/Chrome`. Chrome limits its size on its own, typically to a few hundred MB to a few GB.

## What happens if you delete it?

Rebuilt as you browse; pages load a little slower the first time. Bookmarks, passwords, history, cookies and open tabs are stored in your profile, not here, so you stay signed in.

## How to remove it properly

In Chrome, open Settings › Privacy and security › Delete browsing data, select only “Cached images and files” and choose a time range. Or quit Chrome and move the folder to the Trash.
