# Is it safe to delete games in the Heroic folder on Mac?

## What is it?

Games from Epic, GOG and Amazon installed through Heroic Games Launcher, stored in `~/Games/Heroic` by default. Each takes from a few GB to over 100 GB.

## What happens if you delete it?

Uninstalled games can be downloaded again from your store account through Heroic.

## How to remove it properly

In Heroic, open the Library, open the game’s menu and choose Uninstall, so Heroic keeps its records up to date. Moving a game folder to the Trash by hand leaves Heroic thinking it is still installed.

## Before you delete it

The Prefixes subfolder holds game settings and saves, not game files: treat it separately.
