## What is it?

Whisky is a free Wine-based app for running Windows games on Apple silicon Macs. Each bottle in its container is a Windows environment with installed games, their settings and saves, often tens of GB for a modern game.

## What happens if you delete it?

A deleted bottle is not recreated; games must be reinstalled and any saves stored in it are lost.

## How to remove it properly

In Whisky, right-click the bottle and choose Export to keep a copy, or Remove to delete it. Removing from inside Whisky keeps its bottle list consistent.

## Before you delete it

Back up saves from the bottle’s `drive_c/users` folder before removing it.
