## What is it?

The Epic Games Launcher installs each Unreal Engine version in `/Users/Shared/Epic Games` as a `UE_<version>` folder. Each installed engine is typically 30–60 GB, more with extra platforms or debug symbols.

## What happens if you delete it?

A removed version can be installed again from the Epic Games Launcher, which downloads it again. Projects that need it cannot open until it is reinstalled.

## How to remove it properly

In the Epic Games Launcher, open Unreal Engine › Library, click the arrow on the version’s tile and choose Remove. This keeps the launcher’s list of installed engines correct.

## Before you delete it

Keep the versions your projects are built with; opening a project in a different version may convert it.
