## What is it?

Log files and crash reports written by apps and by macOS for your user account, including `DiagnosticReports`. Usually small, but a misbehaving app can write logs of hundreds of MB or more.

## What happens if you delete it?

Apps create new logs as they run. Old logs are only useful for troubleshooting.

## How to remove it properly

Move log files and folders older than about two weeks to the Trash, after viewing any you need in Console. Logs of running apps may be recreated straight away.

## Before you delete it

If you are working with a developer or Apple Support on a problem, keep recent logs until it is solved.
