The short answer

Yes. Rebuilt or re-downloaded automatically when needed.

What is it?

Before a major update, Chrome saves a copy of key profile data in ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Snapshots, one folder per version. These copies exist only so Chrome can restore your profile if it is rolled back to an older version.

Copies of your profile taken before Chrome updates, used only to roll back.

What happens if you delete it?

Chrome creates new snapshots at future major updates. Removing old ones only matters if you downgrade Chrome.

How to remove it properly

Quit Chrome, then move the Snapshots folder, or the older version folders inside it, to the Trash.

Quit the app that uses it, then move it to the Trash. Empty the Trash when you’re sure.

How MoreRoom helps

MoreRoom recognises this item, shows its real size and when it was last used, and labels it “Safe to remove”. In the free version you can move it to the Trash in one click, with Undo; Pro collects every safe item at once.
